Starting college can feel like a whirlwind of emotions: excitement, nervousness, anticipation鈥攁nd everything in between. At 成人头条, we believe the first week of school should be about more than just surviving. It's your opportunity to connect, grow, and start fearlessly.

Whether you're a first-year student or transferring in, here are five fearless (and practical) ways to meet people, get involved, and make the most of your first week on campus.

1. How to Get Involved in College During the First Week

Week of Welcome (WoW) is more than just fun鈥攊t鈥檚 your launchpad for college life. From movie nights to club fairs and music events, WoW is designed to help you connect with other students and feel at home. Some must-attend events include:

First-Year Hangout Backyard Bash Coffee & Connections Welcome Party

2. Best College App for Campus Events and Making Friends

One of the easiest ways to stay in the loop is through Campus Groups. It's where you'll find all upcoming events, student orgs, and service opportunities. You can even RSVP and get reminders so you never miss free food or a new friend moment.

3. How to Meet People in College

You don鈥檛 have to have it all figured out. College is the perfect place to try something you鈥檝e never done before鈥攍ike joining a random game of pickleball, going to Refuge (our Thursday night worship), or sitting with someone new at Tornado Snax. Lean into the awkward. That鈥檚 where the magic happens.

4. Building Relationships in College Dorms

The people in your residence hall are often your first community. Your RA (Resident Assistant) is there to help you settle in, navigate challenges, and connect you with resources. Make an effort to attend hall events and activities鈥攖hese are great opportunities to meet new people, get involved, and feel more at home. Don鈥檛 be afraid to knock on your RA鈥檚 door or ask what鈥檚 happening in the hall this week.

5. Clubs to Join as a College Freshman

Getting involved early is one of the best predictors of student success. Even if you鈥檙e not 100% sold, go to a club meeting or two. You鈥檒l meet people who share your interests (or help you discover new ones), and it鈥檚 a great way to build community outside the classroom.

Final Thought

No matter how you're feeling right now, you were made for this moment. Concordia Texas is a place where you can explore fearlessly, grow boldly, and belong deeply. Start your year with intention, and don鈥檛 forget: being fearless doesn鈥檛 mean being perfect鈥攊t means showing up.

We鈥檒l be right here cheering you on.
